GRP Conductor Rail Guard Boarding

Our GRP Guard Boarding assembly is designed with both customers and installers in mind. Comprised of only four components—Support brackets, GRP Protective boarding, Joining clips, and 10mm Packers—this assembly is engineered for ease and durability.

The GRP protective boarding and joining clips are manufactured using the pultrusion process, endowing them with enhanced strength characteristics. Crafted from vinyl ester resin, these components have an extended lifespan and offer superior protection against chemicals such as Diesel Fuel Oils to BS2869 Class A2, Weedkiller Compounds, and Ethylene Glycol, commonly used in de-icing fluids.

Notably, these materials are electrically insulating, ensuring that contact with a live train collector shoe or any other object resting on the conductor rail will not result in dangerous voltages. This includes the support brackets and ancillary components.

The support brackets and packers are injection-moulded in Akulon® Ultraflow K-FKGS6 /B PA6-GF30 FR(17) material—robust, halogen-free, and UL94-V0 Fire resistant.

Our guard boarding assembly is designed for easy removal and reinstatement without the need for special tools—simple hand operation suffices. Weighing in at just 5.5kg/m, the protective boarding is easily carried by individuals. It can be fitted to either the outside or inside of the conductor rail and is double-sided, suitable for both sides of the conductor rail. Additionally, we offer an extended height protective boarding assembly, ideal for rolling stock maintenance depots and stabling sidings, providing additional protection against inadvertent contact with live shoe gear on stabled trains.
